Migraine

Migraines are severe headaches & are common among Perth residents. They can last from a few hours to several days. For the migraine sufferer they can be debilitating. Studies indicate more than 2 million people suffer from migraines in Australia alone.

Herbal Medicine in conjunction with Tui Na massage and acupuncture is a proven method of treating back and neck pain which may trigger a migraine headache.

Migraines can be triggered by a number of factors including menstrual abnormality, dietary choices and environmental issues such as bright or flickering lights or sitting too long in front of a computer. In some females with menstrual abnormalities migraines can be triggered by not drying your hair after washing - the cold and dampness on the scalp can cause migraines and tension headaches. Other factors that may trigger migraines include hormonal as well as physical and emotional triggers which may cause migraine headaches to occur. While some triggers can be reduced or removed from a person’s lifestyle – you don’t eat the foods you know can cause a migraine, there are some triggers that require a specific course of treatment.

There are a number of ways to regulate menstrual cycles for instance, while other triggers we have little or no control over - changes in weather are known to cause migraine headaches. While we cannot control the weather, we can assist with alleviating migraine headaches using acupuncture.

Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine in conjunction with massage and acupuncture is a proven method of treating back and neck pain which may trigger a migraine headache. What is perhaps less commonly known is that Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine when used in conjunction with acupuncture can also be used to effectively balance hormones and menstrual cycles – both of which are common migraine triggers in women.

Acupuncture combined with Chinese medicine: a miracle cure for migraine?

Do you suffer from migraines?

Migraine headaches vary in intensity from person to person and can be debilitating if you are a sufferer. However they can be alleviated or even cured using Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

However, it is a common misconception that we will be able to solve all of your issues with one or two sessions. While each session will greatly improve your well being, our clinics and programs are designed to target specific issues and a course of treatment is recommended. In addition to acupuncture we may also suggest Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine and other therapies such as Moxibustion, Gua Sha or Massage depending on our findings during the initial consultation.
